MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking an experienced surgical PA leader with 3-5 years progressive leadership experience and first assist experience to join our Peri-Operative leadership team. The Physician Assistant will assume responsibility for the daily operations of the surgical PA first assist and inpatient surgical program that includes 22 direct reports. Additionally, will provide direct care as a surgical first assist and inpatient surgical PA as needed.

In order to be successful in this position, you will be an effective communicator with good leadership,interpersonal relationship skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across all departments.
Additional Qualifications:
• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program; Master’s preferred
• Five years of experience as a certified physician assistant in an active clinical environment with 3+ years in an
inpatient/operating room setting
• Supervisory/management experience preferred
• NCCPA certification
• Registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners
• BLS /ACLS certification

About Us:
• Our surgical focus and key strategic initiatives include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, colo-rectal, ortho
and other oncological surgery, urology/gynecology, neuro, ortho, vascular and general gynecology surgeries
• 14 operating rooms performing 17,000 surgeries per year with 60% inpatient volume
• As a Bariatric Center of Excellence with GI endoscopy suites that perform about 1,100 inpatient and 3,100
outpatient procedures annually, including over 230 bariatric surgical cases (gastric bypasses and sleeve
gastrectomies) a year
• Two DaVinci Robots (SI and new XI) with 600 cases per year
• Digestive Disease Center with two GI endoscopy suites performing about 1,100 inpatient and 3,100 outpatient
procedures annually
• Impending projects include a 75,000 square feet surgical pavilion which will include all new standard state of the art operating suites including a hybrid room, new PACU and Pre-Admission Testing
