Physicians Assistant

JOB SUMMARY: Provide professional patient care in the hospital and office setting

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
• PA degree from an approved College or University Physician Assistant Program
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National commission on certification of Physician Assistants
• Current licensure
• Training in otolaryngology care preferred, not required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Ability to make independent decisions about patient care
• Experience diagnosing and treating patients
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable using email and internet applications
• Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
• Neat, professional appearance

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provision of on-call coverage preferred, not mandatory. (One day during the week and every 6th weekend shared call with MD)
• Order/review of lab results and radiologic testing
• Collaboration with physicians re: patient findings, diagnosis and treatment plans
• Perform minor procedures
• Assist with surgical procedures
• Prescription of medications
• See consults in hospitals
• Documentation in appropriate EMR
• Maintains privileges at required facilities
